We all have unique gifts – talents or skills – that we can use to make a difference in the world. What are yours? Do you know?
Are you uncertain or unclear about yours?
Maybe you think you don’t really have any unique gifts to offer to the world.
Maybe you’re busy with the demands of daily life and don’t really see how your talents and skills are unique in any way.
Or maybe you feel you’re not that talented or skilled in any particular area.
Whether you’ve identified them or not, each one of us has unique gifts that are a part of our special purpose for being here in this world. Our talents, abilities and skills draw us to a specific area of specialty or call us to engage in an activity or adventure. They’re like our guides that lead us to our purpose or reason for being here in the world.
Below you’ll find ways to explore your unique self and gifts, providing more clarity on your purpose in life and igniting your self-confidence and self-worth – so you can make a difference in this world!
Explore Who am I?
Take a look at who you are. Truly. Your abilities, your qualities. Your biography and current life.
What moments in your life were turning points? Who did you meet that made a difference on your journey?
What are you passionate about? What gets you excited? What do you want to do to make a difference in the world?
What do you like doing for fun? How do you relax and rejuvenate?
The more deeply you know who you are, the more you’ll be able to identify your unique gifts.
Identify Your Gifts
We all have unique gifts – talents or skills – that we can use to make a difference in the world.
Our gifts typically develop out of our passions in life.
Or sometimes out of overcoming adversity.
By identifying your unique gifts, you’ll become more aware of how you can share them with others. Not only does it benefit them, but also you! You’re able to engage in meaningful and purposeful work in the world – which will ignite your inner fire and power.
Not sure what your unique gifts, talents and skills are? Here are 3 ways to help you identify them.
1. Your passions in life - What are you passionate about in your life? What excites you? What’s so important to you that you can’t imagine NOT doing it in your life?
2. Your childhood interests - What was of interest to you as a child – topics or activities? What were you drawn to?
3. What others see in you - What do your friends and family recognize and appreciate in you? What do they enjoy about you?
Once you’ve explored who you are and identified your unique gifts, you’ll be clearer on your purpose in life. You’ll know how you can positively impact the world. You’ll feel more powerful and energized, living a more meaningful life.
