In the first part of this series, which we posted last fall, right before our annual LIVE YOUR DREAMS retreat, we explored why your dreams matter and encouraged you to turn inward to listen.
As we prepare for this year’s retreat, we offer part 2. This is where intention becomes action. Without this step, even the most incredible dream will remain just a great idea. But when you commit to your intention by taking action, you create the conditions for your dream to take root and grow.

Grounding Your Dream in Action
Here are some simple, but powerful, ways to turn your commitment into a reality:
Set a date. Give your dream a timeline. By setting a target date, you create a sacred contract with yourself. It transforms “someday” into “I’m doing this now.”
Break it down. Large dreams can feel overwhelming, but smaller steps feel manageable. Write, sketch, or map the steps, even if they’re small.
Make it regular. Devote daily or weekly time, even 10 minutes, to your dream. Consistency builds excitement and momentum.
Find support. An accountability partner, coach, or friend can cheer you on when you struggle or doubt creeps in. Someone who celebrates your small victories and who lovingly nudges you forward when you want to stop.
Even when you commit and take action on your dream, know that obstacles will arise.

Persevere and Surrender
Every journey has challenges, tests and can include setbacks. Life will surprise you with delays, detours, and doubts. Don’t think of this as failure. Think of it as just part of the journey or even as an invitation to recommit to your dream.
Persevere and trust the unfolding. When the unexpected arises, it may be life aligning you with something even more perfect for your dream!
The Divine often has a way of shaping our dreams into something richer and more aligned than we could have imagined.
A delay might protect you from moving too soon. A closed door may guide you toward a path you hadn’t even considered.
When things don’t unfold exactly as planned, pause and ask: What is life showing me? What hidden blessing might be here?
Commitment is your anchor. Surrender is your openness to the sacred flow of life. Together, they allow your dream to blossom into reality.

At the Live Your Dreams retreat this September, we’ll work with both sides of this dance... commitment and surrender. You’ll leave not only with clarity about your dream, but also with the tools and support to take it forward in the months ahead.
If you’ve been carrying a dream in your heart, waiting for the right time, consider this your invitation. It’s not too late for your dream! It’s waiting for you.
