Remembering Your Divine Origin

Writer's picture: Jeannine and DavidJeannine and David

Sometimes, the number of difficulties that we encounter in our lives can be overwhelming. When this happens, remember to be kind and gentle with yourself. This is a time to not lose hope.

Even though we may encounter great challenges, we’re not alone on this journey. There are many great souls who can support us, guide us, and cheer us on. For we need each other, and we are needed in this world. Remember, we were made for these times! Did you miss our recent blog post? You can find it here: You Were Made for These Times.

Remember, you are a spiritual being, a divine being. Not only do you have thousands of great souls around you for support, but remember you have divine support too.

When we’re battered by fierce winds in the midst of a dark storm in our lives, we may forget our divine origin. We may forget that we’re one with the Divine. Remembering this can lift us out of the despair we feel. Remembering who you are and why you came to Earth will give you hope again.

In the inspiring words of author and teacher Clarissa Pinkola Estes,

“When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But … that is not what great ships are built for.”

So, as great beings in the world, when we venture out to unfold our purpose in the world, we’ll encounter challenges. We’ll encounter storms that might try to blow us off course.

But as Clarissa says, we can remember to “Look out over the prow; there are millions of boats of righteous souls on the waters with you. In your deepest bones, you have always known this is so.

Even though your veneers may shiver from every wave in this stormy roil, I assure you that the long timbers composing your prow and rudder come from a forest greater. That long-grained lumber is known to withstand storms, to hold together, to hold its own, and to advance, regardless.

We all have a heritage and history of being gutted, and yet remember this especially … we have also, of necessity, perfected the knack of resurrection. Over and over again we have been the living proof that that which has been exiled, lost, or foundered – can be restored to life again.”

Today remember your origin, remember that you come from a divine source that is greater. Remember you have thousands of great souls to support you. Know that you too can weather the storms that come. You too can be restored to life once again.
